About Us
Our passion for Cryotherapy started four years ago when founder Tryan Stutes was dealing with chronic knee pain from past sports injuries. His obsession with fitness left him in constant pain and taking over the counter and prescribed pain medication on a daily basis. While in rehab after knee surgery, the Physical Therapist suggested adding Cryotherapy as part of the recovery plan.
Tryan was hooked after the first Cryo session and has not stopped since. With a consistent routine of localized Cryo and Whole Body Cryo sessions, pain medications are not required in his daily life. UCRYO & Recovery was established in 2019 as a result of Tryan’s own recovery journey with the goal to help clients meet their individual needs and goals regarding fitness, pain management, muscle recovery, weight loss, anti-aging, and just plain daily living.

The use of low temperatures causes, in addition to reducing edema and anti-inflammatory effects, also a reduction of the pain stimuli the perception of pain. Studies have also shown that the use of cryostimulation increases the flexibility of muscle fibers and tensile strength – the effect of low temperatures on collagen, muscle and fiber component.
Cryotherapy treatments reduce the feeling of tension, bring the patient into a state of relaxation and overall well-being. This is because of the release of endorphins during a cryotherapeutic session. Studies show that cryotherapy has a beneficial effect in the treatment of depressive and anxiety disorders.
Cryotherapy has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects due to the release of conduction in peripheral nerves, increasing endogenous opioids and activation of the descending antinociceptive (analgesic) system. A reduction in muscle tone leads to anti-contraction effect, and an interruption of the so-called vicious circle of pain.
During cryotherapy metabolism is reduced, and increased in the core part with increased blood pressure. There is a decrease in mediators of pain, inflammation, nerve conduction and increased muscle tone. Seconds later blood vessels expand, pale skin becomes pink, muscles relax, blood pressure decreases. Regular use of cryotherapy brings visible analgesic, anti-swelling and anti-inflammatory effects.
The use of cryotherapy, through the antioxidant effect, delays the aging process, improves the skin tone, and also gives the effect of firming, reduction of cellulite and fat, and strengthening the structure of the surface blood vessels. Cryotherapy is also one of the methods of biological regeneration.
Cryotherapy is a valuable assistive method in sports medicine and very useful in the process of biological regeneration. It counteracts the negative effects of training overloads, supports the treatment of sports injuries and prepares the body for greater loads. It promotes achieving better sports results, enabling the implementation of full training cycles
Cryotherapy accelerates metabolic processes in the body, noticeable up to 12 hours after the procedure. Responding to extremely low temperatures, the body emits energy to restore the temperature to its natural value. Thus additional calories are burned – studies suggest that during a single session you can burn up to 800 kcal. Regular use of cryotherapy can lead to long-term acceleration of metabolism and thus weight loss.
